What is Global Portfolio Account Services Team responsible for?

Global Portfolio Account Services (GPAS) department is responsible for ensuring that all investment vehicles of Franklin Templeton and its affiliates are able to trade in any type of security, with any counterparty and in any market required. We support our Portfolio Managers by providing whatever legal and banking infrastructure is necessary for portfolio investments. GPAS works with brokers, banks, other investment managers, depositaries, financial regulators, tax and other authorities all around the world. We cooperate with Franklin Templeton subject matter experts in areas such as law, taxation, product development, portfolio administration/research and trading.

Our continuous effort makes new product launches possible, keeps our funds compliant with constantly changing regulatory frameworks and puts them in the best position to execute trading activity all the time.

GPAS is currently looking for a talented individual interested in joining Country Registration Team (CRT). The team is responsible for registering Franklin Templeton funds in financial markets for portfolio investments purposes, maintaining custody bank accounts with leading custodian banks, opening all accounts that are essential for trading and keeping our investment vehicles in compliance with local regulations. CRT oversees new product launches, closures and mergers of our funds, significant changes in funds’ KYC (Know Your Client) and prepares all documents that must be provided to our custody banks, counterparties or local authorities in relation to these processes. Currently the team consists of individuals with background in finance, economics, law and administration.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Country Registration Analyst?

As Country Registration Analyst you will have an opportunity to work on key projects resolving around the most crucial milestones in each investment vehicle’s lifecycle – launches, closures, repositionings and else. Initially you will be learning and helping the more experienced team members, slowly taking part in more complex processes, to eventually lead your own projects.

Your daily responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Searching for information (legal and financial) and analyzing it;
  • Preparing and executing documents such as application forms, banking templates, authorization letters and else;
  • Responding to inquiries from internal and external counterparties;
  • Analyzing databases and large data files;
  • Serving as subject matter expert in Country Registration field of expertise;
  • Tracking your work by updating databases and archiving documents and communication trails;
  • Preparing scheduled and ad-hoc reports;
  • Interacting and communicating with key stakeholders and decision-makers in the organization and outside of it by emails, phone calls, online calls, and meetings.

Wymagania

What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

Education and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in finance, economics, business, law, administration or similar;
  • Previous work experience in investment industry or international financial institution preferred;
  • Professional experience in international organization and/or in handling legal or tax documentation, project management and data research is also an advantage;
  • Experience in working with large institutional business partners and/or top management.

Knowledge, skills and abilities: 

  • Fluent command of English, both written and spoken, is a must. Other languages are an advantage, but not necessary;
  • Knowledge of and interest in investment management, mutual fund, banking and global finance industry strongly preferred;
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Power Point. Experience with other business applications;
  • Quick learner. Proven ability to search for information, analyze and refine it, to share it with others;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, comfortable with initiating communication with internal and external stakeholders, good in negotiations, open to giving and receiving feedback, not afraid to question and discuss;
  • Ability to plan ahead, prioritize tasks, manage your projects and meet deadlines;
  • Being comfortable working with little supervision and guidance;
  • Attention to detail and quality of work, personal integrity, commitment, and accountability for own actions ;
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver the expected results and follow the workflow;
  • Proven ability to take initiative and work under pressure in a dynamic, ever-changing environment
