What is an Analyst - Blockchain Engineer responsible for?

Franklin Templeton is launching a new private fund focused solely on investing in and seeding early stage blockchain companies around the world. Our business goal is to speak to 3+ new projects, blockchain companies per week or up to 150 new projects over 18 months.

This individual will work and report directly to the Portfolio Manager to source and analyze early stage blockchain projects that Franklin Templeton wishes to invest in.

What are the ongoing responsibilities?

  • Research and Discover new layer-1 and layer-2 protocols that compose the multi-chain universe.
  • Research and Discover Web 3.0 companies to invest in and partner with.
  • Summarize technical findings, pros, and cons of protocols, on chain surveillance and company/blockchain fundamentals.
  • Track governance proposals, analyze new features within an upcoming upgrade, or recapping a critical vulnerability that led to a chain disruption or halt.
  • Articulate findings clearly verbally and in written format to portfolio manager.
  • Engage and extract important investment information from the following communities discord, telegram, Twitter, GitHub, and developer forums.
  • Engage the portfolio companies project teams to build out a roadmap on how to stake, govern or become a validator, and operate nodes as part of the investment from Franklin Templeton.
  • Write SQL queries; work with APIs to get needed investment data, etc.
  • Build or use and track a database of companies analyzed. #NOT_APPLICABLE

Wymagania

  • Experience in blockchain research which includes on-chain surveillance and transaction monitoring.
  • Bachelor's Degree – Engineering or Computer Science preferred.
  • IT background desired.
  • Fluent knowledge of English (spoken and written).
  • Proficiency of MS Excel, knowledge of SQL highly desired.
  • Previous work experience might include working as a consultant and or working as an engineer, computer scientist or project lead analyst at a seed investment venture firm.
  • Actively invested in many projects themselves.
  • A passion for decentralized web 3.0 and an open financial system.
  • Someone who attempted to build a company during the 2017 ICO boom; but failed.
  • Someone who has openly shared their opinions on one of the many podcasts offered today or who has founded a podcast.
  • Passion to keeping up to date on the 24/7 world of blockchain.
